1st May 2024: Growing Me is for everyone in the team around a child, but this post wants to highlight how we make life that little bit easier (and a bit more fun!) for children’s social workers.
Social workers have a legal obligation to create a ‘Life Story Book’ for every adopted child. The book is meant to give the child an understanding of their past so they don’t blame themselves from the trauma they have faced.
However, local authorities are struggling, and social workers are overworked – restricted to crisis responding with massive caseloads. High numbers of fantastic and caring staff are sick with stress, worrying about the work they’ve left behind.
Growing Me can help…
No session planning – 10 Growing Me sessions create a high quality intervention that include all aspects of Therapeutic Life Story Work.
High Quality therapy – Informed by evidence based therapies such as Theraplay, DDP, and Sensory Integration… And it’s been clinically supervised.
No extra materials needed – The kit contains everything needed from start to finish – audio and visual guides, bright and friendly animations, sensory play equipment, and creative art materials… All materials are high quality, recycled and eco-friendly.
Tried and tested – Content has been tested by care-experienced families… Their feedback has informed the journey.
Adaptable to individual needs – Growing Me can fit the family and the service. A social worker can deliver Growing Me with a family, or become the official Supporter to the family as they navigate the journey alone… As Supporter, a social worker can monitor the family’s progress through the web-portal.
Session notes? Done! Available through the web-portal are adaptable Session Notes which save valuable time and stress.
Cost-effective! Crucially, our innovative and multi-sensory approach can be accessed for a fraction of the cost of traditional therapies.
Wow! That is one good looking list.
